Undergraduate Pathway in Hospitality Management

Students can enter at either Stage 1 (University Foundation) or Stage 2 (First Year Degree), depending on their qualifications. Students are guaranteed progression to the second year of a relevant degree, providing that progression criteria are met. Stage 1 and 2 take place in ICP using dedicated lecturers and benefit from small class sizes.

Hospitality is one of the fastest-growing industries in the UK and worldwide, despite the ongoing economic challenges. With a multitude of prospects in its varying fields, this course is packed with practical experiences, training in specialist environments and customer-facing scenarios so that students gain a real taste of what it's like to work within all areas of hospitality.

The University of Portsmouth is ranked 28th in the UK (The Guardian 2015) for its Hospitality Management course. Students wishing to develop a career in the hospitality industry can study BA (Hons) Hospitality Management or BA (Hons) Hospitality Management with Tourism. These newly available degrees cover a broad range of business and management topics including economics, financial management, organisational behaviour and marketing at the Portsmouth Business School. There is the option to spend the third year in a full-time, paid, hospitality-based role, providing a great opportunity for you to experience applying your skills first hand.
